Answer from wl1
Answer: Clean water is the water which is pure and free from all kinds of germs and pollutants. This is the water that we can drink pleasantly and without any health risk.
We are not sure but we think that the 5 countries will be The USA, UK, Japan, Korea, China that gets pure drinking water with the help of their technology.
Uganda, Kenya, Mozambique, Sudan and few countries of Africa do not get proper drinking water sources from internet)
Water, another vital element of the environment, is also polluted in different ways. Man pollutes water by throwing waste into it. Farmers use chemical fertilizers and insecticides in their fields. When rain and floods wash away some of these chemicals, they get mixed with water in rivers, canals and ponds. Mills and factories also throw their poisonous chemicals and waste products into rivers and canals and thus pollute the water.
Water vehicles also pollute rivers by dumping oil, food waste and human waste into them. Unsanitary latrines and unsafe drains standing on river and canal banks are also responsible for further pollution.
Thus water is contaminated by various kinds of waste and filth.
Water is life because with out water we can not live a single day. We can very well understand this when we have scarcity of water. During flood we have acute shortage of drinking water. Many people die for water. So, water is rightly called life
Answer from wl2
Clean water is liquid which doesn't have a smell, taste and it is transparent.
Countries which have access to clean water: Latvia, Lithunia, Estonia, Russian, Belorus. Countries which don't have access: Yemen, Australia, Algiers, United Arab Emirates.
Water is polluted by oil and rubbish.
Water is life because there is no life without water, all human bodies and organisms consist of water.
Water resources are polluted worldwide by chemicals, rubbish and badly purified sewage.
Answer from wl3
- 1. a. What is clean water?
Clean water is water that is drinkable, meaning it has no large objects, salt, bacteria and chemicals. In order to make water completely clean/drinkable, it needs to go through the filteration process to remove large objects, sediment, bacteria and chemicals.
- 2.a. Mention five (5) countries which do not have access to clean water.
Countries in Africa(mainly Sub-Saharan countries ie. Ethiopia, Tanzania, Uganda), Bangladesh and Kenya.
- b. State any five (5) countries with access to clean water.
Five countries that have access to clean water are Canada, Iceland, Peru, Liberia, Gabon and Norway.
- 3. In what ways are the water sources worldwide polluted.
There are many ways that water sources are contaminated (meaning polluted or not drinkable). A way of polluting bodies of water is by dumping wastes (that may or may not contain chemicals) into the water. Some factories and industries dump their waste into lakes, seas, etc. The chemicals pollute the water, making it undrinkable. For example, mercury can be leaked into water through industrial waste. As long as it's in the water, the water is undrinkable, as it can cause cancer in the long run. It is important to filterize water before we drink it so that the contaminants, such as mercury, does not harm us or nature. Another way that water is polluted is acid rain. Air is polluted through the exhaust of our cars or the pollution coming out of factories, When it rains, chemicals that are in the air go into the water directly, or by surface runoff. The chemicals are now in the water, making the water unsafe to drink. Animal feces also contaminates water sources. The feces are washed into the body of water also through surface runoff. The examples above are all ways that water sources worldwide are polluted. It is important for water to go through the filteration process before it is stored to remove all these contaminants and ensure the safety and quality of our water.
4. Why would you agree to the phrase ‘’water is life’’.
Water is life because we need water for everything in our life. We need water to hydrate our bodies, to cook with, to clean with, to grow plants/crops. Water is also in everything. It is in fruits and vegetables, animals, and our body is made up of approximately 70% water. Without water, humans, nor any other living creature, could survive. Water is a basic necessity for life and without it, we will die. Therefore, water IS life.
I would not agree to the statement water is life because technically, water is not living. Using it for the benifit of a living thing will help that organism grow. It is abiotic but It helps all living things in order to survive. In other words it is the top priority.

№2.Here is my opinion about a problem of drinkable water:
Once upon a time, when an Earth was born, water appeared. All creatures came out from water.Nothing alive today can`t live without this simple liquid. Pure water is life for all. Pure water need both people, and animals, and plants.Water makes huge impact on health of the person. That it is good to feel the person should use only pure qualitative potable water. In an extreme antiquity people were able to distinguish "live" water – suitable for drink and "dead" - unsuitable for the use. Scientists establish for a long time direct communication between quality of potable water and life expectancy.

Picture by Nazar Prodaniuk and Vadim Basaraba
In Europe such developed countries as Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, agree about deliveries of pure potable water from Sweden, and Hong Kong, for example, receives water on the pipeline from China
Use of spring water – too not panacea. Its quality practically isn't subject to control and especially worsens during the spring period of thawing of snow. In such water at the laboratory analysis pesticides, phosphates, heavy metals are found out. Impurity nitrates is very high, their concentration on the average at 2-10 time exceeds admissible quantity for potable water.
By estimations of World Health Organization frequency of the diseases transferred by water is the highest. Influence of the water factor on population health constantly proves to be true more than centenary practice of water supply.

Why would you agree to the phrase ‘’water is life’’.
Water is life for all living beings. Be it plants or animals, potable water is essential for survival. But, water from all sources of water is not safe for consumption. Let's look into the common methods of purifying drinking water.
Drinking water or potable water is water that is supplied for human consumption. The purity of potable water is a major concern throughout the world. It must comply with the scientific standards set for safe consumption, so that people drinking it should not suffer from immediate or long-term health effects. In short, it should meet the State and Local water quality standards. The United States is known to have one of the purest water supplies in the world. But, in many other countries, people still suffer from acute or chronic illnesses due to drinking of contaminated water.

Water sources are polluted through several ways, that is why we have water pollution, people dumb garbage in water, others poor DDT and other harmful chemicals in water to hunt fishes, others deposit toilet remains into water and many others, all these amount to the pollution of our bodies and intern we suffer water borne diseases such us guinea worm.
Water is life because we use water in our daily lives and most of us if not all of us cannot do without the consumption and use of water.
Thank you.

There has been a worldwide problem about shortage of water or not access to clean and hygienic water for people of some parts of a country. This is not a new problem which the world has faced now but it has been a problem to mankind for at least for the last ten to fifteen years. Due to lack of development, people in some countries like the south part of Somalia have died due to unhygienic water or lack of access of water.
Many organisations like the UN have also started to help third world countries to provide water to its citizens. What is clean water? Clean water is water which is Bacteria free and which can be used for different human activities like drinking, bathing, washing, and industrial use. Some of the countries which have access to clean water are the United Kingdom (UK), Australia, the United States of America, Norway and South Africa. These are some of the countries which have access to pure water in the whole country but all the countries have access to clean water but due to lack of development, that can not reach every where. Some of the countries where clean water is not available in some of the parts are Somalia, Kenya, Egypt, Libya and Saudi Arabia. Note that these countries have access to clean water but as I said earlier that due to lack of development or other financial problems, water can not be transported to all the parts of the country. As I said earlier that the world is facing water problems, one of the main reasons for this shortage is pollution. Due to human activities all around the world, the water gets polluted in many different ways.
These pollutions are water pollutions by factories which release waste material into water bodies. Air pollution where chemical emissions are released into the air which melts the arctic and the Antarctic glacier. These are all combined and are named as global warming as the man kind is destroying mother earth. To stop global warming, organisations like the United Nations environmental program have started creating awareness to the people. One of the most famous phrase they use is “water is life”. I completely agree to this saying because water is used by humans for almost everything. When thought carefully, it is clearly evident that water is required for every activity done by the mankind.
