Answer from wl1

Answer: For the last few years we are facing the scarcity of pure drinking water, although earlier it did not happen so. Population is increasing at an alarming rate and so there are problems. In the villages, people use tube well water. There is shallow tube well and deep tube well. The water of these tube wells is pure and drinkable. But some tube well water is contaminated with arsenic. This arsenic poisoning is a threat for the people at present. These are marked red. People do not take water from them. Many people filter water and drink.

Beside this our ground water is also polluted by waste and filths. farmers use chemical fertilizer in the fields. These washed away by rain and finally get mixed with water and contaminated.

In the big cities water is supplied by WASA. They carry water from out skirt of the city and purify it with chemical treatment like chlorine and other. This water is pumped in big water tank and supplied to houses through big pipes.

Water supply in Bangladesh relies mainly on groundwater. In rural areas, more than 97% of the population relies on groundwater for its drinking water supply. In Dhaka, 82% of the water supply is abstracted from groundwater that is free of arsenic, while three surface water treatment plants provide the remaining 18% Groundwater is being severely depleted in Dhaka where the groundwater levels are dropping at two to three meters every year. The city’s water table has sunk by 50 metres in the past four decades and the closest underground water is now over 60 meters below ground level.

Conservation is very necessary in our country. The way the sources of water are reducing is alarming. So, the government is trying to find the new sources of water and how it can be saved and use.

We  conserve water  in water  towers, but  purify  it  by the  use of water purifiing systems.

Water  is purified only in towns.  In the countryside water  is  clean and people  take it from the wells. We  are supplied   with water coming from lakes, rivers   and springs.

Water conservation is not important in our country because there  is enough fresh water.

Our water supply comes  from  underground or rivers and lakes. Usually it is  drink able, but  in large  cities  we purify it by the help of different  structures.

Dear friends! Today in our gymnasium we celebrate Day of the Earth. And water is one of elements. This drawing has drawn Genyua Shersten. The people, birds, won't live a plant without pure air, without at its finest. It is necessary to protect the nature and its riches, especially water.

Best wishes Diana Mishchanchuk and Genyua Shersten.

Common Methods for Purifying Drinking Water

By drinking water purification, we mean the process of removing undesirable biological and chemical contaminants from raw water, so as to make water fit for human consumption. The methodologies for purifying drinking water are totally different from the ones adopted for wastewater treatment. In addition, water purification is done to meet the standards of chemical, medical and industrial applications. There are both public and private organizations, which deal with water safety and provide useful information, relevant to drinking water issue.

Depending upon the water quality, contaminants present in the water sample and amount to be treated, the methods of purification vary. Say for example, if the sample to be treated is unusual colored or muddy, it should be filtered first through clean cloths, or allowed to settle down for some time. Then, the actual process of treatment follows. In contrary to this, clear water can be purified directly without the filtration or sedimentation step. So, in order to get a brief idea about the pollutants that need removal and purification method to be adopted, a water test can be done beforehand. The following info deals with various techniques of potable water purification

Water purification is the process of removing undesirable chemicals, biological contaminants, suspended solids and gases from contaminated water. The goal is to produce water fit for a specific purpose. Most water is purified for human consumption (drinking water) but water purification may also be designed for a variety of other purposes, including meeting the requirements of medical, pharmacology, chemical and industrial applications. In general the methods used include physical processes such as filtration, sedimentation, and distillation, biological processes such as slow sand filters or activated sludge, chemical processes such as flocculation and chlorination and the use of electromagnetic radiation such as ultraviolet light.. including suspended particles, parasites, bacteria, algae, viruses, fungi; and a range of The purification process of water may reduce the concentration of particulate matter dissolved and particulate material derived from the surfaces that water may have made contact with after falling as rain.

Boiling

Boiling is the rapid vaporization of liquids which are heated at their boiling point. Boiling occurs when the temperature is at 100 degrees Celsius. Below are some pictures of boiling water.

SEDMENTATION

Sedimentation is the tendency for particles in suspension to settle out of the fluid in which they are entrained, and come to rest against a barrier. below are some pictures of sedmentation

Distillation

Distillation is a method of separating mixtures based on differences in volatilities of components in a boiling liquid mixture.

In purifying and harvesting our water, many water companies including our country's water corporation purify the water by using chemicals which can kills all germs and get rid off harmful particles that can be dangerous, we also have other companies who do like wise to make sure the water they sell to the public is good for consumption, we harvest the water in reserve-wa's barrels, and ponds, and these are all clean areas too.

The water companies pour chemicals into the water which they get from the lakes, streams, rocks, valleys and so on, the procedure is one of a kind that will get rid of all harmful particles as well. In our country just like others, water conservation is very important because potable water is had to manufacture and get so we are very careful about the use of water, we always educate the public about the proper use of water in order not to waste it.

My water in my country goes through a long process, first process it goes through is evaporation in this process the water has to boil up until to some temperature where the water will start evaporating and will show some smog. After this we use a type of chemical that kills some germs that had remained after boiling, then we are then sure that this water is drinkable. Many contaminants affect the water because most of the water we get here are from shallow water and in shallow water there are mostly insects on the top and they collect it from the top. Another contaminant are compound leaves the leaves might be pushed with the wind from a place until to the water source and the leaves might contain some germs in it. My water supply comes from the water sources from the water sources it goes through water pipes and through the water pipes into residence taps.

To get water there are water pipes that take water from a water source for example a lake then from there it goes to a water station where all the water is treated and then later taken again through the pipes to residences taps. In my country water, conservation is very important especially in dry places because we sometimes have a period of drought and during these times, there is no much water in the water sources. Some methods that are used are like; re using of the water and the way this is done is, by washing your hands. The water that was dropping down you could pick the water and go boil and put the water guard that I told you from before and you could even use it for washing the dishes or watering the plants.

Hello!!!

In my country water is purified at special stations where it is taken through different layers of sand or stone, that the impurities in water will get stacked there. The water comes from rivers, lakes or from underground sources. In Romania water conservation is very important because people trust their source.

Here in Ontario, we are extremely lucky to have safe, clean drinking water available to us, but

it must go through a very important process first. First of all, our source of water supply is the Ottawa River,

which is considered clean yet not safe enough for drinking. To clean the water, there are steps which

include filtration and disinfection methods, which are run by the city and ensure our safety.

First, the water runs through a main filter, which separates the large/medium sized waste such as pollution

(plastic, food, feces, plants, ect). Another filter then separates small waste, then the water moves on to a

contamination barrier and log filter, illuminating bacteria, waste residue, and other particles not separating in

the earlier stages. The water is then taken to a chemical disinfectant, using a dosage of Free Chlorine, depending

on how the waters condition is. After, the water goes through a pathogen disinfectant, again depending on the

waters condition. It is also put through a mandatory inactivation of Cryptosporidium and Giardia which is a

chemically assisted filtration method, using a sand filter to remove any traces. All through these procedures,

humans test the water with parameters, and ensure everything is done properly. These are the steps our

water is put through, many Canadians use at home water filters which have specialized filters and are user

friendly.

In the past, contaminants include traces of Fluoride, Fecal Contamination, bacteria that builds off of

industrial waste, pollution, rainfall, domestic waste, feces and illnesses from underwater life. We are

extremely lucky to have all of this done for us and to have clean water available to us so easily. It is

something we are really thankful for.

Water conservation in Canada is important just like every other country but water conservation is not as important as other country's due to the fact that water only costs $0.31 per liter cubed and Canada uses 343 litters of water per person per day and that canada is one of the most rich countrys when it comes to water.

Some ways used to conserve water in Canada are low flow toilets, low flow shower heads, low flow sprinklers, low flow garden hose heads, low flow aerators turning off the tap when brushing our teeth
